help us go on tour! [03 Jul 2004|02:29pm]

For the third and most likely final time, I'm reaching out to those of you who book shows or aren't adverse to the possibility of a band playing in your house. With Eyes Like Static/Red Sky at Morning California Tour 2004 is only about a week away, and we still haven't gotten confirmation on some of our shows, so anyone that can help out, please do. WELS = ex-Box the Compass, RiYL Under a Dying Sun, Hot Cross, Fugazi. RSAM = ex-no one important, RiYL Drive Like Jehu, City of Caterpillar, Mogwai. Both bands have mp3s online, here and here.

Our schedule so far...
July 12 : San Diego (help!)
July 13 : Los Angeles (help!)
July 14 : Los Angeles / Bakersfield (help!)
July 15 : Fresno @ Lauren's House, 548 E Olive Avenue, 6pm
July 16 : Stockton @ the Yard House, 340 S. Olive, 6pm
July 17 : San Francisco @ the Balazo Gallery, 2811 Mission St, 7:30pm, w/ a Day in Black and White
July 18 : San Francisco (help!)
July 19 : Sacramento @ West Coast Worldwide, 1908 16th St, 7:30pm, w/ the Blue Letter
July 20 : Livermore @ Unity Skate Shop, 2188 Railroad Ave, 7pm
July 21 : San Jose / Santa Cruz (help!)
July 22 : Los Angeles @ the Robinson House, not sure on the address, w/ Occam's Razor
July 23 : Los Angeles (help!)

If you could book us on any one of those days marked (help!), that'd be so great I can't even fathom it. Either respond to this thread or email redskyetcetera@hotmail.com.

Hi! Join nonpaste

We're primarily interested in people who are passionate about music and open-minded in general, but who aren't rampantly ego-jacking assholes. Please don't even go if you can't take a joke. Also if you're a gay.

Watashi Wa - Her Dress
No Doubt - Simple Kind of Life
Lost Prophets - Last Train Home
Guster - What You Wish For
Outkast - Ghetto Musick
Straylight Run - The Tension and the Terror
Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot, The Ocean, Dazed and Confused
Daft Punks - Digital Love
Straylight Run - Digital Love
311 - Love Song
Maroon 5 - This Love
Phantom Planet - Big Brat
Kanye West - Slow Jams
Incubus - Agoraphobic

mixtapes any one? [18 Feb 2004|09:47pm]

I also wanted to add, i'm interested in trading mix tapes as well, i live in canada and i like to listen to lots of different stuff, lately it's been alot of alternative rap stuff, but also hardcore oldschool stuff like mc5 and iggy and the stooges. i like mellow dreamy pop stuff like the flamming lips, a little grindcore here and there, a little bit of progressive punk stuff like refused and at the drive in.

really there is alot more like classic rock of course and some weird old synth stuff, like devo, kraftwerk. i could go on and on (i tihnk i already did actually).

so names josh comment if you wanna tape some tapes

a must download [18 Feb 2004|09:47pm]

The Grey ALBUM

DJ Danger Mouse is a genius, and this is a remix master peice. The Consept of the Grey album is original but simple: take the original vocals from jay-z's black album and put them over beats produced useing only the White album by the beatles.

This is a must downlaod. For more info click hereand to find the tracks check out www.illegal-art.com or check soulseek or your file sharer of choice

Anyone interested in swapping mix tapes? I live in MA, but anyone in the US is fine, I just don't have tons of money to pay shipping to other places.
Specific bands I like are in my userinfo, but I'm hoping to hear a lot of new and interesting stuff from a bunch of genres.
Er...So I guess comment and then we can take it from there? I don't know, I've never done this before.
